How to Make Senior Pictures Feel Like You — Not a Yearbook Photo.

2. DRESSES + DRESSED wear it your way.

3. SKIRTS + BOOTS
Sweet. Tough. Somewhere in between.

Your senior pictures should look like you, not like you showed up, stood on an X, smiled at the camera, and went home.

The yearbook photo has a job to do. It needs to meet your school’s requirements. Your senior portraits get to do something completely different.

They get to have a little attitude.

They can be quiet, cinematic, messy, polished, black and white, dressed up, completely casual — whatever actually feels like you.

Start with clothes you already love wearing. You don’t need to suddenly dress like someone else because you’re having professional pictures taken. Bring the jacket you live in. The jeans that fit perfectly. The boots you always wear. Something a little unexpected. We can build from there.

The location matters too. Maybe downtown San Luis Obispo feels more like you than the beach. Maybe it’s an old car, an alley, an open field, a parking garage, or somewhere nobody else would think to use.

Your session doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

And you don’t have to know how to pose.

That’s my job.

I’m looking for the little things — the way you stand when you’re not thinking about it, where your hands naturally go, the expression right before you smile, the photograph that feels less posed and more like a frame pulled out of your life.

We’ll still make sure you have a yearbook-ready portrait. But that’s one photograph.

The rest should be yours.
